hey y'all!
JUST got back from the group show in orange at salon synergy.
it was a good showing, met some really kool kats,
and sold one of my pieces!
the turnout was effected by the holiday weekend,
but was still a nice event.
the work will still be hung there for a while and there are talks for another show too!
so, i'll keep you posted about that.
quick thanks to floyd and cam and everybody who made this event happen.
now, on to up and coming shows:
BARREL MAN SHOW:
june 21st in historical filipino town
at remy's on temple.
a bunch of artists are involved in customizing the infamous barrel man, with accompanying artwork.
(if you don't know what a barrel man is... well, you're in for a surprise!)
flyer forthcoming...
ARTILLERY SHOW (SF):
july 12th san fransicsco.
in conjunction with assembly line artists, this show will have artwork from various artists (including me of course) depicting some connection between art and artillery.
and for SOME ODD REASON they picked MY ART to be used for the flyer... craziness!
(see below)
lastly,
a show just in the planning stages will be in LATE JULY in downtown san deigo,
this show will be COMIC THEMED as it will take place during the big comic convention down there,
will be an interesting week for sure!
ok.
just did a huge blog update on events and stuff,
but my internet died it all was lost.
since you probably don't care...
i'll just do a fast food version.
just got back from the seattle trip,
it was grand!
think i'll be exhibiting at the emerald city comic con next year.
drove down with my friend tomas (le chef) in his 69' chevelle... so it was an interesting 22 hour trip with with a few unscheduled maintenance stops, so we wouldn't die.
the shows (this past week) that i had work in but missed (because i was out of townsville) seemed to do well:
-944 in SD
-groundUp in HI
one of these days i'll actually be at these events!
the next one (in the OC) saturday may 24th
i'll actually be at! (see flyer below)
think it's the first time i've shown in orange county,
it should be def (yes, D E F... i'm going to campaign to bring that word back!)
groundUp is an awesome collective of artist in Hawaii,
that does great things, i was fortunate to get plugged in with them recently.
they are truly a bunch of kool kids and you should check out their STUFF.
and if you needed yet another reason to visit that lush state, they have a show this weekend that i will have a few pieces in (see below)
sadly this is not a show i'll be able to attend in person,
i'll be there in spirit...
but next time i'll want to be there in body...
for sure!

01-
one of the pieces in the show... for whatever reason, it likes to load on it's side...?
hey y'all!
this weekend was crazy...
much sleep i did NOT get (as yoda would say)
lots of mad cramming was done to get the Revelations zero book done for the free comic day and Biola event.
friday-
the anchor and hope show (see below) was a great event,
i got to see all the corona/riverside kids i hardly get to see enough! the art was received really well, and it was a bit of a debut for my new Revelations post card series (see more at the 'art art art' section to the left), bands played and it was good times all around, then some artists went to the spaghetti factory after words for some grub,
which was nice cause the people were awesome, but it meant i got back home (long beach... 50-60 miles away) after midnight...
saturday-
...then i had to get up around 4am to get out to studio city and set up for the Biola media conference event (which was a first for me).
the Biola event was a blast,
really good atmosphere on the CBS lot,
and a bunch of industry people making contacts and networking is always good...
and the fact that there were a lot of faith based endeavors and opportunities just made it all the better.
personally there were some great meetings with some major potential for things down the road (both Revelations based and other), but only time will tell.
saw iron man,
and was impressed.
knew i'd like it and it was going to be good,
and it did not disappoint!
best comic movie in some time.
seattle-
it is official the trip up north to check out the emerald city comic con (amongst other things) is on!
be back next week.
till then...
peace ouch~
